Where Were They Then?: Michael Emerson, AKA Benjamin Linus

In honor of next week's premiere of season five, let's take a look at what our favorite frozen donkey wheel pusher, Benjamin Linus, was up to before LOST. Most clips I found of Micahel Emerson, he was playing a creepy and intense character, similar to his role in LOST. He played a man claiming to be a murderer on The Practice, a corrupt doctor in Saw, and my personal favorite, a child slave trafficker opposite Ice-T on Law & Order: SVU (amongst others). But viewing those clips, I really feel like I'm just watching Benjamin Linus up to his old tricks: lying, manipulating and of course, being creepy. So let's take a look at Mr. Michael Emerson playing a Lawyer in a show starring Whoopi Goldberg called (what else?) Whoopi. I didn't even know this show existed, but at the same time it kind of seems like there would HAVE to be a show starring Whoopi Goldberg called Whoopi. A quick side note: The connections seem to be prevalent off the Island too. It couldn't just be a coincidence that Ben was on Whoopi and Hurley was on Becker, and Whoopi and Danson were once romantically involved, now could it?

Of course, he's still kind of creepy.

The Whoopi-Danson connection is just like the numbers. But what does it all MEAAAN???

Nice video. I also liked that that overweight guy is that comedian that often has stand up specials on Comedy Central.

I read in US Magazine yesterday that Michael Emerson's real-life wife played Ben's mother in flashback. Who says you don't learn things from US Magazine?

Wow. US Weekly sure knows how to make a creepy guy sound even creepier!

Yeah, in the same piece they talked about what a creep he is. Celebs - they're just like US!
