Questions & Answers: Follow the Leader

Alright, it's late, so let's just get down to business.

First question: how the hell does a submarine get to Michigan? We know that those fools ain't gettin' off so easy. But way to throw Kate in there to make things uncomfortable.

Answer: We now know more of Richard's role... he's an "advisor". But clearly he doesn't know all. How much does he know? Why doesn't he age?

Question: He sees them all die?! WTF? Please explain, RichyRich.

Answer: John Locke's purpose is to kill Jacob. And he's lying to Sun. Sadness Sun!

Alright so Chang knows the truth about the future (his questions to Hurley were great, I thought) and that Miles is his kid. You'd think he'd have more authority over Radzinsky and that jerk, Phil. Who is really in charge of Dharma?

So, what do we think... is the Incident just a result of the hydrogen bomb being set off (btw, who keeps a hydrogen bomb in a temple - he said to BURY it)? Also, is the temple directly below the Dharma village? Does that make sense? What the hell is Locke doing? Is Ben going to go along with it? So did Locke set this whole thing up? He, after all, is the one who had Richard tell himself that he had to die. Doesn't that seem circular or am I missing something?

fuck kate. that bitch is gonna mess everything up, cause if the plane doesnt crash she continues her trip from sydney to jail. i also didnt like how they tipped theyre hand that sawyer and juliett arent leaving in the tease at the end. i seriously thought that might have been it for them and sawyer would get to play out my biff tannen fantasy. oh future self how i long for the day we may meet...

Am I the only one who is wondering where the hell is Bernard/Rose/other survivors that have been on the island supposedly this whole time as well?

Do you think the finale will address this? It's a huge whole in the story line the writers have ignored since the beginning of this season.

Also.. I don't want to ruin the series finale for myself, but do you think the writers are planning on a "clean slate" ending for the series? As in, they change it so the plane never crashed, lands safely in LA, hence everyone who has died on the island is alive still, for a "feel good" ending of the show? If they change the need for the button scenario, Desmond would never have gotten stuck there having to push it, so that would seal up his story line...

What do you guys think?

Loved this ep!! Finally some script flipping, and competent scriptwriting, for the most part. I loved the intra Other politics! Has Richard ever seen Jacob? Is Jacob really working on behalf of the Island or is he an interloper, or is he Jack? MattMax hasn't quite convinced me that Jacob is Jack but I like the idea alot, and he certainly has convinced himself!

Maybe Bernard/Rose were the dead bodies that Jack/et al found in the cave with the water way back when?

i dont think anything can be changed. even by attempting to change the past the characters keep following their destiny (baby miles and charlotte leaving in an evacuation, kate and sawyer saving ben so he could join the others, elloise shooting daniel, etc.) they are clearly stuck in a time loop. the crappy thing is we already know how this all ends.

This is the great story of western civilisation, defeating destiny. Looking beyond limits of what should or could be done is what made western civilisation so dominate for so long. Faraday is just like Faust, struggling to overcome the limits of destiny.

If Lost was a first person shooter I'd always be 'Submarine Driver' on multiplayer.

Oh, Submarine Driver would be bitchin --- so would VW Jungle Bus Driver, and Giant Tree Stompin Monster.

I'm confused about the whole Richard/Locke/compass thing. I guess Richard seemed to remember getting the compass and old Locke disappearing... but not that future Locke was the one who took him there and set the whole thing up. Plus, wasn't that three years ago?? Did old Locke get 'beamed' somewhere or just evaporate?

Maybe someone smarter than me can explain it.

Matthew is convinced that Locke knows that he has to kill Jacob, who is actually Jack, because Jack wants to die. Jack screwed himself over setting off the hydrogen bomb, placing himself between "times" and has been acting as always-present Jacob. If this theory proves correct, he could, I guess, resemble Christian Shepard, no?

I was thinking just last night that Jack and Jacob may very well be the same man, but it almost seems too easy. However, it does make the happy family reunion of Jack, Christian and Claire without old "juicebox" mucking up their good times. But why would Jack change his name to Jacob? I have a feeling that we may find out what lies in the shadow of the statue at the end of the season, and more importantly who this other group of people from the island who keep asking this stupid question are. Also, when is Kate just gonna die? She just ruins episodes now. OK and then I think that Faraday may not be Widmore's son, because of Richard's line about their complicated relationship. He seemed a little jealous there, making me think that Faraday is actually Richard's son. Also what if Jack is his own father? P.S. DP you need to get a bag of the bammer cause that whatever yr hittin is wayyyyyyyy too strong. Western Civ. and Faust really?

Oh and Amber thinks that Jacob is inside the H-Bomb. Stew on that.

Oh and one more thing. Richard is the smoke monster. Actually DP is the smoke monster, but you know what I mean.

They totally had me at "Yeah I know them, I watched them all die."

But I kind of lost interest. Something fucking mind blowing better happen.

I'm going to be pissed if they are able to change things so that none of this ever happened.

Will this blog just up and disappear?

yeah, i can't decide what to do with this blog after LOST is over. Not that I post on it much anyways. Maybe another show will start that is blog-worthy. Something tells me a blog devoted to 30 Rock just wouldn't spurn as much conversation.

I think I'm going to start carrying around a camera and taking photos of the people I see who look like Lost characters.

Guess where I'm going to post them.

Obvs, I can help with that. I thought I'd spotted another ethan but then I was informed that he was 'too fat' to be him.

I saw Ben and Dr. Chang's love child last week. Not sure what time frame he's from, but his parentage was pretty clear.
