Questions & Answers: Namaste

Yay! Young Vince - I mean - Ben! And baby Ethan! We're all back on the Island, which you know I love. We're also getting a better view of Dharma, which I also enjoy. Here's some questions & answers...
  • Does Sayid say "f--- this" and just teach Ben how to be a badass?
  • Is this the reason Ben already knows all about them? Because he met them as a child?
  • Did Faraday split and become a hostile? The only other theory I have is that he kills himself, which seems unlikely. Faraday and Alpert are BFFing right now.
  • Did anyone else think the plane crash looked really fake?
  • Why is Sun in present day time? What is Christian doing? How is Sun going to get to 1977? What is her "journey"?
  • When do new recruits stop arriving on the Island?
  • When is the purge again?
  • Did Ben making the landing strip/runway because he knew that they'd need it late?

So there's going to be a bit of a battle or something, right? Survivor against Survivor apparently. Let's pick teams! Who is with who? Will there be some sort of physical catfight between Juliette and Kate? Jack and Sawyer had words and it was a bit refreshing to hear Sawyer tell Jack off. Jack is so annoying, just offering a handshake. Get over yourself, dude. He's gonna mess something up soon enough. Kate will help.

Also, why is no one asking where everyone else is or what happened to them? I'd be like "tell me EVERYTHING" no matter what side I was on.

madeline you were right. the show is much better when they stay on the island. it seems to have a good thing going with 2 consecutive shows now that have earned my seal of approval.

Is it just me, or do the Jack, Kate, and Hurley not seem too concerned about what happened to the plane/Sun/Ben/Locke?

It's like they're just "oh, okay, we've gone back in time and are in the Dharma Initiative now. That's cool."

What do you think happened to the urgency of needing to get off the island? It's interesting to note - those who stayed on the island for the past 3 years have spent more time with the people of the D.I. than with the Oceanic 6. In TV timeline things make sense, but think of it realistically - they've lived with all of those people for 3 years - seems like Sawyer, et. al would be closer to those people now than the original crash survivors.

P.S. Where is Faraday? Did he go crazy because mini-Charlotte was there and he couldn't take being around her?

My theory - Faraday joined the hostiles. CALLED IT!

How cool was it that the baby was Ethan!? Great twist. I love Sawyer vs. Jack in a battle of the wits, too.

Sawyer being the boss is the best! I loved it when he called Jack out for leaving the Island in the first place. And kiddie Ben was frakin' awesome, he was soooo Ben! Best episode of the season.

I personally think all comments should begin with telling me that I was right. Thanks anonymous!

The ew.com guy has this theory that the seasons mirror each other. That seasons 3&4 mirrored each other, that season 5 is mirroring season 2 and that the final season will be much like the first season. This being said, he is making correlations of captive Ben (Henry Gale) and captive Sayid. He is suggesting that the hostiles DID get to Sayid beforehand and are using him to bring down Dharma.

How did seasons 3& 4 mirror each other?

I like the theory that Farrady joined the hostiles. I imagine the DI wasn't crazy about him scaring the crap out of little baby charlotte by telling her the island was going to kill her. That seems like it would get him kicked out of New Otherton.

Also, the wife has a theory that Sun is the only one who retruned to the island in a different state than she left it in (she was pregnant when she left), and that's why she didn't go back to 1977. If you want to get all spiritual, she's the most changed, mentally, as well.

Who says the rest of the people on the plane didn't go back in time? They did go through time, if you remember it was night when the glowing thing happened, and after it was over the plane was in daylight. They might not have gone to 1977, but they went somewhere.

Good point Eryn! Maybe Sun has to go to the Orchid and do some more funny buisness. I want Sawyer to make Jack cry, though I don't want to see Jack cry, sick of seeing dudes cry on TV. But I hate Jack sooo much!

The plane is in 2007 - the screen kept saying "Thirty years later" and "thirty years earlier". I am so joylessly analytical.

I think the night to day switch was more a matter of a location switch than a real time switch.

also, baby ethan ... how did he survive the purge? Does he become a hostile? He's one of those who comes out of the clearing, taking off his mask?

And why does Radzinsky go crazy later?

also, I just read a thing about how the painting in Ben's old dharma house would change, suggesting that you can, in fact, change the future.

Okay guys, creepy true story. So I'm watching the episode and I have one more minute left when I hear a knock at my door. I say, "come in" and pause the show. Lo and behold its Vince. And he goes on to talk to me about some nonsense and I'm like, "cool, Vince, gotta watch Lost now." And Vince leaves. Then, I watch the final minute of the ep and guess who gets revealed? Young Vince(Ben). Guess who got the chills. Me.

PS Post a side by side picture of Vince and Young Ben!

Ethan was allowed to join the Hostiles, beacuse he did the same thing that Ben and Locke did. He killed his father.

Are they going to put a shadow in front of Christian's face every time he comes on screen? I'm tired of him walking forward into the light. He did it in the cabin, then at the donkey wheel, and again last night.

Also, did anyone else notice that the smoke monster seemed to be creeping into the building with Sun, Frank, and Christian? At least, it seemed to be that way. Is the way to Jin through the Temple?

Kate looks funny.

My friend pointed out to me that the Sawyer, Kate, Hurley, and Jack are all the ones that Ben captured at the end of season 2. hmmm....

Call me cynical, but I have a hard time trusting people who call themselves "Christian" and claim to speak for a higher power.

Don't trust him, Sun!

I heard someone suggest that Christian is the black smoke monster. Sun saw the black smoke monster and then immediately saw Christian.

there was smoke all around them when they were talking too. also, claire is seen for a split second behind sun...

Eryn said...
