In season 2, Shannon sees Walt, dripping wet, when she's looking for vincent. Four days later, in an attempt to prove she saw Walt she goes in search of him. And what happens? She gets shot. She went looking for Walt, she found death. John Locke, wanting to end it all, is about to take his own life. Until Walt shows up and tells him it's not time. Walt basically prevents Locke's death. Michael is seeking his son back in "the real world" but is not allowed to see him. He also seeks death, but is never successful in finding it. Walt confirms that Locke came looking for him, under the alias Jeremy Bentham. In the same episode (I think) we see Locke lying in the casket. I'm probably not treading new ground here, and I won't go as far as saying Walt is any kind of Grim Reaper-like Death Incarnate. But we already know Walt has powers that we probably don't fully understand. Do you think it's possible that Walt is using his psychic abilities, combined with his placement in time outside of the Island's, to attempt to reach out to those facing death? That doesn't quite explain the "can't see Walt, can't die" theory I applied to Michael, but it's iteresting to me nonetheless.Codyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00256771600800472999noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3795728245533367698.post-67328348872271359112008-11-18T16:19:00.000-08:002008-11-18T16:19:00.000-08:00I think what's interesting to point out is that it...I think what's interesting to point out is that it's Walt who has to appear to people. Much like Walt appeared to Shannon with his creepy, dripping wet "shhh". Why was it Walt who could convince Locke to get up out of that ditch? Why does Walt reach out to people? What is Walt's role? How is Walt chosen?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
